Greenhouses (Columbus)

At the Kottman Hall greenhouse facility in Columbus, students are involved in planting various plants, evaluating experiments and maintaining the facility. Managed by the Department of Plant Pathology, the greenhouse typically employs several students at a time.

The Department of Horticulture and Crop Science and the School of Environmental and Natural Resources also use the greenhouse facilities for teaching and research related to ornamental pathology, weed science, forage crops, soil science, rice pathogen, tree pathology, soybean cyst nematode, and even fish physiology and ecology. The greenhouses also supply a crop of native perennials each year for the Chadwick Arboretum plant sale.
